About Madden Career Toolkit

The creation of the Madden Career Toolkit (MADCAT) was born of a desire to take utilities such as ejk's EZFM and my own BT-EZFM, to the next level. Several people in the Madden community wanted a convenient way to store the stats for every season of their franchise using a single set of PHP files. Through discussion on Football Freaks it was decided that an advanced utility that used a MySQL database as a backend was the natural progression in franchise utilities for Madden. Thus was born MADCAT. Development began on January 1st of 2004 using EZFM's parsing code as a base. Much of EZFM's display code has been modified to work with MADCAT, as well.

Because it uses a database, MADCAT must actually be installed on your host. It creates a database (or uses an existing one, if you don't have permission to create new databases) and generates 26+ tables in which to store its data. Once installed, the database is manipulated using MADCAT's admin control panel. For technical reasons, you may have to upload and import each franchise log manually, but if you're lucky you'll be able to use the One Touch Update feature.

MADCAT gets its inspiration from EZFM, BT-EZFM, league sites such as the MFL, as well as Total Pro Football.
