Madden Career Toolkit's Admin Area

As a franchise owner, you'll be spending a fair bit of time in MADCAT's Admin Area. Here you will upload franchise logs as well as maintain other areas of the database. Currently, you do not have full control over the data in the database. If you are looking for more total control, I'd suggest a generic MySQL front end such as phpMyAdmin. More functions will be added to MADCAT's admin area in future versions. For now, you can do most everything you'd need to do in normal circumstances.

Logging In

When you first load up the admin area in your browser, you are asked to log in. The username and password are defined by you, in "admin/config.php". You are greeted with this screen:

One Touch Updating

As of version 1.2, MADCAT has the ability to upload all 33 franchise logs with a single click! There are a couple of steps for this to work:
  1. Using an FTP client, upload all 32 team logs and the league.txt to a subdirectory (name does not matter) in the admin/ directory
  2. Log into the admin area and type the directory name that the logs are in, into the One Touch Update form. You do not need the trailing slash, just the directory name. Click the Import button.
(This process can take over a minute on slow servers, and could "time out". If you can't get it to work successfully after a couple of tries, your best solution is to put 16 logs in one directory and 17 logs in the other and "One Touch" each of them seperately)

Uploading a Franchise Log (Old Method)

One Touch Update pretty much makes this obsolete, but the ability to upload one team at a time can be useful when debugging

Use the Browse button to select a log from your local computer, and select the year the log is associated with and click "Upload". Upon success, you'll see something like below:

All success and error messages will appear in that location. If you get an error that you don't understand, copy the message and post on Football Freaks and we'll try to help you.
When uploading a log, a preview of the data in the log will pop up in an IFrame at the bottom of the admin area. For the league.txt log it will display the league standings, and for the team logs it will display the team roster.

Setting "My Team"

As with (BT-)EZFM, you can set a team to be your team, so that the front page will display information for that team. In MADCAT, you can associate a different team each year. This is done to support relocation. To add a "my team" listing, enter the city name, team name, and year and click "Add":

Emptying the Database

Inevitably, you'll need to empty your database of either all data, or a specific year. To empty the entire database (except the middle names list), simply click the "Empty" button. You can also delete a single year, by typing in the year and clicking "Empty":

Adding Relocation Info

If you relocate your team in your franchise (or if the CPU relocates a team), you can add this to the database and have MADCAT act accordingly (treating the relocated team as the same team as the team it once was). The year is the first year you were relocated. So, if you relocate after 2004, and the relocated team's first season is 2005, you put 2005 in the "Relocation Year" box. Once you've imported the logs for the first season of your relocating, and set the relocated team as your "My Team", you won't have to fill in any of the boxes (MADCAT will do that for you!). Just hit "Add".
