Frequently
Asked Questions
"I downloaded the ________ playbook,
but I couldn't figure out how to open it, how do I use/view
it?"
The downloadable playbooks on this website
are only compatible with the PC version of Madden 2004.
"Can you host my custom playbook?"
I will host submitted playbooks, but I
won't do the full write-up anymore. Time is a consideration,
as well as the fact that I am not an expert in your playbooks.
If you want to do your own write-up, or host a little page
of your own with detailed playbook info, I'd gladly include
it to the site/add a link. I'd suggest uploading your work
to Football-Gaming.com
as well, and posting around on Madden community forums -
Football-Freaks.com
and MaddenMania.com
are the two main forums I am a part of. You can also use
the site Forum as well, to
post about your work.
I'd also suggest zipping your playbook
and including a readme.txt or some kind of documentation.
"Can you host PS2/XBOX playbooks
as well?"
I don't own a console, so I don't know
how that works with exporting them out to a PC, but I would
host anything submitted.
"How/Can I create a ____ play in
Madden?"
View the tutorials section of the website,
and look for whatever it is you need. If you cannot find
it there, feel free to use the Forum
for questions. If that fails, shoot me an email.
"Can you post play diagrams and
video of playbooks so the console gamers can try to recreate
your playbooks?"
I will do this, up to a limit. Almost all
the plays of my playbooks are created from added plays,
using some special "feature" of the play, usually
a blocking assignment or a playaction assignment. To add
to that, I do a lot of tweaking of the play, mostly repositioning
players to give them assignments, to get everything the
way I want. To recreate everything like that by hand would
be almost impossible. The play diagrams often are not much
help, as often, I use "flaws" in the play editor
to get what I want, so the way a play looks on paper isn't
the way it unfolds on the field.
I will post several play diagrams of a
couple more unique plays, try to give some general principles
of the playbook, and possibly add some video. From that,
combined in the knowledge in the tutorials, you should be
able to use my ideas in your own work. That way, you are
not limited by my design, you can create the plays as you
want, and you can only use the plays you want. It's also
a lot easier than trying to follow my step-by-step instructions.
