40 Defense 2
Version: 2.0
Formations / Plays: 7 / 84
Style: 4-4 defense. Mostly zone coverage, not a blitz-heavy system. Uses a lot of rotating coverage - 1 CB bumps in the flat, the rest of the coverate rotates over top. Also includes a variety of blitzes out of basic coverages as well as the rotating ones. Includes a 5-3 defensive front, a nickel, a dime, and three pun rushes.
Notes
This defensive playbook features a 4-4 alignment, with the strong safety walked up as a linebacker. The playbook uses the same personnel group as a regular 4-3 defense. For this version, I've completely redone the entire playbook from scratch. Defensive line and linebacker shifting now works perfectly: in the 4-4, all 4 linebackers will shift as a group, in the 5-3, all the LBs shift fine, as well as the defensive line, and in the dime defense, all shifting works perfectly.

The 50 defense was also redone, with the aforementioned shifting working fine now, as well as a little better play selection.

I added several more defenses out of the Stinger/Cloud rotating coverage look and deleted several blitzes which had huge coverage gaps.

The Punt rush has also been redone - "Double Fire" makes its return, but I added two different rushes, all of which have worked for me.

***Bump and run plays (Base Cover 2's, Stinger/Cloud) coverages are all created from a stock cover 2 play (Cover 2 playbook, or "Under 2"/Balanced playbook), in order to have the CB successfully bump the WR and play the flat.

***Keep in mind that each defensive alignment features base coverages, most of which aren't shown here (they are mostly similar to each other).
