is there anywhere I can find a tutorial on how to scratch build a custom roster for madden 08?
i have figured out a few things just from lurking the forum, and downloading editors and utilities. there are a few things that im just not getting tho, the last madden PC game I played was 2000 (played a bunch of console madden in between then and now). it seems like they made it harder for the casual gamer to mod rosters and field artwork, in 00 there were the art options in the create uniform section. i am trying to get my head around the numerical system for the field graphics in the editors, how do you find out what the number is for each piece of field art, and also where and how to place the custom art files for them to work? i have downloaded a Usfl roster that already has some graphics (helmet, and stadium wall art for the teams, but the field art is default ea sports)in it, and I have a lot of custom arts from the 00 game (i had a whole usfl leauge filled out with WFL teams, back when madden let u choose the leauge size not just default to 32 teams). there may be a tutorial on here for scratch building but i havent found it yet, the bottom line being that i want to custom build a new USFL along the lines of my old roster, but the artwork issue still eludes me.

Place the custom art files in (My) Documents\Madden NFL 08\CustomArt\. There are folders for each type of artwork in that folder.

I have the artwork in the correct place, the main part of editing I havent figured out is where do I link the images to the individual teams? I have seen in the editors where there are slots to enter a number for mainlogo, endzone, and midfield artwork, but how do I find out what number goes with each artwork file?

Sorry if this seems thick headed, but I have been playing around with it for a week and figured I should seek help here rather than wrack my brain for a month

You have to create the teams in-game to do that.

Ok, I think I may have been over thinking this , so I'll try doing that and see how it works.

My main problem was that my images were not the right size, all my helment, endzone, and field art was the wrong size from madden 00, thats why it wasnt showing up. I also found the field artwork selection screen, they put it in diffrently than ole madden 00 lol .
