Hi all, it's been a long while since I've visited these boards last. The school year's been quite busy.

I remember some time ago, I think it was either Nick or JDHalfrak (spelling)? was working on a way to actually replace uniforms in the data file - either some updated utility or a how-to-guide. When I last left off, I was using a graphics replacement tool but had to put in two sets of numbers, for example, then got .NET framework errors. I wasn't sure where to post this message since there are so many forums for graphics, and utilities, and then another set of those for the 09 and 10 mod project, respectively, and I got lost sad.gif So I'm really not sure where to look. I searched for MUER and didn't get anything.

Anyway, hope one of you can point me in the right direction. Thanks! football.gif

I believe the program you are thinking of is "MadUniform09", which was made by rexpage. It makes a "Uniform.dat" file that you install custom uniforms into. The instructions are in the readme.

You can download it individually from here, or you can download it in a package with other editors from here. Also, the uniforms that are used with the editor can be downloaded from here.

Hey thanks!! wink.gif

I opened the Mad Uniform program and I don't see any way to actually MAKE a uniform package. This is really nice and I want to try out some of the new uniforms, but a couple of quick questions.

1) If I import a new uniform using the IMPORTs, do these replace the primary home and away unis from the built-in game?

2) Suppose I created my own uniform and number graphics and I want to use them to create my own IMPORT file, what utility do I need to use?

Thanks!

I believe that you need to use something like photoshop to create the graphic.

Here's some links...

Yes, they replace the primary uniforms and sometimes the alternates.

Thanks. Sorry to be a bother, but I don't see a way in MadUniform to actually replace uniforms with my own. I followed the readme file, I pull up "show custom uniforms," and it only shows, say the Dolphins uniforms (that's the .IMPORT file that I based my custom uniforms.dat on).

Sorry for any mixup: I created some uniform files for use with Texmod, and I want to actually "uplolad" these into, I guess, an .IMPORT file. Maybe I'm not sure how .IMPORT files work, but how would I MAKE a new uniform? Thanks.

Edit: I guess what I'm really asking is how do I create a NEW .IMPORT file with my own uniform, and how do I get my graphics into that file?

The TextMod files are different than what to use for MadUniform.

Have you read through this thread:

MadUniform09 1.1

I kind of figured it wouldn't be that easy

So how can you build a uniform file? From reading that thread, I gather that importing your own graphics into an .IMPORT is really really really tricky and can't be accomplished with a utility?

Hi guys,

I think I almost got the numbers to import, but am still getting an error "Index out of Bounds" when clicking the replace bitmap with current selection button. What index is out of bounds? I really don't understand this. At one point I was able to very briefly get it to work, but then I had some "bleeding" in my numbers so had to go back into PS Pro to edit (apparently there was some pink in my numbers coming from some colors in the file being very close to pink), then when I tried again, it failed.

As an experiment, I even extracted a number from an existing .uni file that I ripped from that game. I tried uploading it to another .uni file and it went fine. I opened my number and the exported number and compared them using "Image Properties". Both are 16-color bitmap files, same dimensions, both have 16-color palettes, both have 1 layer, same # of alpha channels - identical. So then I copied my image and pasted it on the exported number file (the one that works) within Paint Shop Pro. I saved the exported file (the one that worked in MUER earlier), tried to upload it in MUER, and it crashed.

I'm REALLY frustrated at this point. wacko.gif cry.gif At the risk of sounding like a pain, I'm at my wits end here. Obviously there are people who have done it successfully. I have Windows 7 and have installed every .NET framework that doesn't come built in. Can someone PLEASE give me some insight into how to get my .bmp to import? Any idea of anything else to check? How many colors, how to make a palette, etc. I know I'm using Paint Shop Pro but a bitmap is a bitmap, right? Photoshop is just too complicated and user-unfriendly for me. Maybe I should convert into another format? I know the NHL 09 PC uses something called .DDS files? I'm no expert on graphics, but I'm familiar enough with PS Pro that think I can follow any directions.

Thanks.
