File Name :: Madden Editor 2.9
Author :: Nza
Category :: 06 Utilities
Description ::
V2.9 - Added a function which recalculates team salary info. Added the ability to edit current year cap penalty. Added the ability to properly forecast next season’s cap situation based on team salary, positions needed to fill and next season cap penalty. Added the ability to export salary cap info for each team to CSV. Added the ability to export injury data to a CSV. Added the ability to export Draft Pick info for each team to CSV. Added a QB Tendency fixer which reassigns correct QB tendencies based on attributes.

HOW TO USE MADDEN EDITOR

STEP 1 - Download Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1. You NEED 1.1. You CAN have 1.1 and 2.0 installed on the same PC, but remember, 2.0 is not fully backwards capable so 1.1 based programs, like this editor, still need 1.1 installed.

STEP 2 - You can extract the ZIP file containing the editor to any location on your PC, just make sure tdbaccess.dll is in the same directory as madeditor.exe.

STEP 3 - Run MadEditor.exe. Once it has loaded, select the file type you want to edit down the bottom left hand corner - either “Franchise”, or “Roster”. Once you have selected this, click the “Open File” button down the bottom right hand. A new dialog box will appear. Here, you can select the file you want to edit.

STEP 4 - Once you have chosen to open your file, the data from the file should load into the editor automatically. You can now edit players, teams, coaches, stadiums etc. If you get errors, please make sure you followed the above steps, and please make sure you chose the right file type - for instance, choosing “Roster” and opening a Franchise file might produce errors.

IMPORTANT: Remember to click “Save Changes” before choosing a new player, team, coach, stadium etc if you want to save the changes you made. For example, if you choose Player X and change his speed from 77 to 80, if you want to keep this change, you must click “Save Changes” before selecting a new player to edit.

“Re-load Info” is used to reload the data from the file selected.

“Close File” is used to reset the loaded info so you can select a new file, although I HIGHLY recommend exiting the utility and reloading it to start editing a new file.

A NOTE ON DRAFT CLASS CREATING/IMPORTING

All draft class related changes should be made via the main “Draft Class” tab. However, to edit a draft class in a franchise file, you must first load the franchise file like you would normally - by following the instructions above. Once you’re up to Step 4, you can then begin to use the Draft Class editing functions presuming your franchise file is at the correct offseason stage for draft class editing (Player Retirements preferably).

I’M STILL HAVING ISSUES or I HAVE BUGS TO REPORT

If you followed everything above and made sure you are using the utility correctly and are still having issues, or if you have a bug to report, please try to post your issues in this thread, as it makes it much easier to keep track and for other people to read in case they’re having issues. I can’t guarantee a speedy response if you create your own thread since I could overlook it. Also, please try not to PM problems to me, as you’ll likely get a much quicker response by posting the issue in the thread, as someone else may know the answer before I even get a chance to log on. It also saves me having to answer the same question over and over again, when I could be spending more time adding features to the editor! smile.gif

Just a post to say I updated the file because I forgot to add "Cap Room" to the Team Salary CSV.

Is there any way to edit fan support within the franchise?I'm tired of seeing half empty stadiums on opening day and teams not selling out playoff games.Teams rarly do not sell out in the NFL and if they do its only by 5-8 thousand tickets not the 20k shortage you see with the current setup.

Thanks NZA

Hey all,

I would like to know if the injury slider (to increase or decrease the # injuries) is included in this version. I didn't see anything labelled "injury slider" or such.

I did however, find under the "reanchise" tab a field labelled "Misc" with two boxes marked "In Game" and "Sim Slider"

I know this function was included in earlier versions and possibly under that tab.

I can't say for sure as I've gone and done a complete re-install of my system after numerous AGP - motherboard compatability issues thumbdown.gif

Any help would be appreciated.

Karl

Yep, those two you mention are the injury sliders smile.gif

As for fan support, i'll see what I can do, although I think I did try this once without success.

Hey,

Are you able to edit player photos....to a point where you can actually delete them? Or at least replace them with something?

Also, if you can do that....how would you go about opening the file? I seem to be having trouble with that as this is the first time I've used your editor. If you could e-mail me at my address that would be great. Thanks a lot.

~ Chuck

No we can't edit photos. Madden's graphics files are untouchable so far due to complex compression/archiving.

My editor is only designed to open FRA and ROS files - i.e., saved franchises and saved rosters.

No. Only things you can change are... contract / ratings / apperance.

Actually you can "delete" them. You only have to overwrite the current player portrait n° with portrait n° 2267.

Nathan, is there any possibilty to add a feature to mass-edit the entire database. I. e. replace portrait n° 1 etc. with n° 2267? Thx!

Would a mass portrait editor really be useful though? I mean, most players have unique portrait ID's. The only one's with the same as far as I can see are the created players/rookies etc with 0.

Hey Nza,

Thanks! hee hee, now with more frequent injuries, I can actually LOOSE a game, or, better yet, win a CLOSE game, regardless of sliders!!!

I am monkeying with the block/break block sliders so that my Ow-Line doesn't get 17 pancakes a game and still give up seven sacks a game..... grrr....

One little problem. I can edit the roster to get everything the way I like it, it opens in-game and I can play a matchup with edited teams, but once I try to play franchise mode things get crazy.

I can start a franchise and complete mini-camp but it won't let me play or simulate any games at all. I attempted to export a game and it told me that something was wrong with my roster file.

When I looked at it a little closer I found that teams which were modified were ok (player stat modifications) but when I transfer one player to another team the game will not simulate or allow me to play either the team I traded from OR the team I traded to.

Nza,

great work on this editor, all the things I've been wanting in this game for a while.

I'm not sure about the abbreviations/ratios for some of the things listed. For instance someone else posted the misc/sim slider-- what does miscellaneous do, and does the value need to be lowered or raised to increase injuries? Also what are the rfa tenders? I think i've got most everything else.

thanks

Hey, how can I modify the team captains? I select the player and then select the captain 1. Then save and repeat for the other two... but it's not working. I must be doing something wrong...

I am having a problem with my franchise freezing in mid-game. I have been able to play 3 of the 4 preseason games (in my 2nd season now) without freezing. The problem was in the 1st preseason game; I simulated that game (which isn't fun) and was able to play the next three until now...week 1 of the regular season.....can't get around the freezing & I don't want to simulate.
I didn't have any issues before using the Madden Editor, so if anyone could assist I'd appreciate it....the editor is still an awesome tool, but this freezing means I can't play the game anymore HELP! blink.gif
