About
This website is a franchise site generated off of a Madden 2004 PC franchise. The website is written from the point of view of Merton Tucker, a running back drafted in the 5th round of the 2007 draft in my franchise. Tucker's name and attributes were generated by Madden's computer generated rookie draft. I decided to base the site of of his story to get a fresh view for my franchise site, and to also add a more human aspect and some excitement. The writing should be very creative and entertaining to read, and should offer some more insight to the details of team happenings than usual franchise sites offer. The statistical work is all generated on-the-fly by MADCAT, which pulls data from exported statistical logs entered into a database. I will track the career of Merton Tucker from a 4th-string running back, and see how he turns out. This does not guarantee that he will become a superstar, I will try to treat him just like everyone else, nothing special (no extra playing time, extra chances around the goalline, etc, from what a regular player would get). He can be traded, released, sign with another team, retire, maybe even become a coach. If he switches teams, I'll switch with him, if he retires, I don't know what I'll do yet (hopefully it doesn't come to that).
The franchise originally began as a traditional franchise site, The Falcon's Nest. This is merely a continuation of that franchise, not an entirely new one. If you were a fan of the old site, and are looking for it, you've found it (kind of.). The Mailbag is a feature that runs on this website every once in a while. If you would like to submit a question for Merton Tucker to answer on the website, you can either post a note in the franchise thread or send an email. Questions can be published either with real names/locations or made-up ones. As for me? I'm an 18-year old, living in San Jose, CA - recent high school graduate, headed for UCLA this fall. I'm a former high school and youth football player myself, was not a runningback, but a defensive and Special Teams player. Noted alumni of our football program are former 49ers tight end Brent Jones and Cardinals safety/Army Ranger Pat Tillman. I used to compete in Madden online leagues, even ran my own at one point, but converted to franchise sites - my first attempt was a Raiders site (I'm a part of the RAIDER Nation), followed by a Redskins site. I began this franchise around October 2003, and will continue it up to the release of Madden 2005 on the PC. |
